Gear Consignment

Massey's in New Orleans now offers used gear consignment. Bring your old gear to us and we will display it in our store / warehouse for sale. If it sells, you will get to choose between store credit or a check.

THE RULES:

1. Our New Orleans location accepts kayaks and bikes for consignment.
2. Please drop off consignment items during normal business hours M-F. We cannot guarantee service on Saturday or Sunday.
3. We will consider any item that is similar to the products we currently stock, however, we retain the right to refuse any item.
4. Please be sure that all parts are with your item and that it is clean (we will not clean your gear and it will not sell if it is dirty) before drop off. It will be sold 'as is.'
5. Gear will be sold by Massey’s at the consigned price chosen by the consignor (that’s you!). We will recommend prices based on our experience, opinions and the lunar cycle - if asked. Price changes must be made in person with an ID.
6. Funds derived from consignment items will be dispersed in the following ways ONCE YOUR ITEM SELLS:
   1. Store Credit equal to 80% of the sale (excluding tax) will be issued to a Massey's gift card as soon as humanly possible after the items has sold. This is the fastest way to gain access to the funds.
   2. Cash Back (via check) equal to 60-70%* of the value of the items sold will be issued in the form of a check that can be picked up at the New Orleans location with some form of photo ID. This form of payment takes more time and we ask that you please be patient.
7. Please provide us with the best contact information available, it will be used to notify you that your store credit or check is available.
8. We may, at our discretion and at any time, terminate the consignment and ask that your items be picked up. If they are not picked up within 2 weeks (or at an arranged time), we will consider them abandoned and dispose of them.
9. We do not offer any warranty for consignment items. All items are sold 'as is.'
10. Massey’s is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen goods.
11. No returns or exchanges on consignment items. No exceptions.

*The official discounts for payments made by check:

• Items priced under $500 will receive 60% of the sale via check.
• Items priced above $500 and under $1000 will receive 65% via check.
• Items priced above $1,000 will receive 70% via check.
